The Historic Britannia Kanmantoo, is one of South Australia's most distinctive wedding and events destinations. If you're searching for a venue that is rich in history, full of character, and unlike anywhere else in South Australia, you’ve found it!
Available to book for special occasions, such as weddings and parties, Britannia is also open for regular events. Additionally, the venue hosts special events including SALA exhibitions (August) and History Festival Month (May). Check our social media pages for opening times during special events.
Regular events include:
Coffee and Connect: Held on Wednesday mornings, 10 am to 12 pm, this is a great way to meet locals of the area.
Open Mic: Friday evenings for 5 pm to 10 pm, join us for Open Mic night. Come along to listen, or bring your instrument and sign up for your spot on the stage! Food and drinks are available.
Sunday Sessions: The last Sunday of each month from 2 pm, come along for live music in the Alfresco area.
Event spaces
Exclusive hire of The Historic Britannia Kanmantoo gives you and your guests the freedom to enjoy the entire venue, with beautifully restored spaces. Accommodating up to 120 guests, each room offers its own unique atmosphere while remaining connected by the venue's rich heritage and charm.
The Grand Dining Room & Historic Bar is the heart of the venue, where original stone, lime-washed walls, polished timber floorboards and glowing fireplaces create a warm and elegant setting.
The Reception Room offers a versatile space for ceremonies, cocktails or dancing, while the character-filled Blacksmiths Room provides an intimate retreat, perfect for quieter moments or smaller gatherings.
Opening onto the spacious light-filled Alfresco, the venue blends indoor elegance with relaxed outdoor (sheltered) entertaining, creating a beautiful setting beneath the Adelaide Hills sky.
